Privacy Policy
Effective date · July 15, 2026
BeaconGaze ("BeaconGaze," "we," "us") operates the website beacongaze.com, the Cosmic Alignment survey, and the reading products offered through them. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. By using our website or purchasing our products, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Survey responses. When you complete our questionnaire (hosted by Tally), we collect the answers you submit. Depending on the survey, this may include your name or preferred name, email address, date of birth, birth time and birth location, zodiac sign, ZIP or postal code, and your answers to personality and preference questions.
- Newsletter signup. If you join the free weekly forecast, we collect your email address and the date and time you subscribed.
- Purchase information. When you buy a reading, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive your email address, the product purchased, and a transaction reference. We never receive or store your card number, CVC, or full payment credentials — those go directly to Stripe.
- Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the correspondence and your contact details so we can respond.
Information collected automatically
- Birth-chart calculations on the site are performed locally in your browser. The natal-wheel instrument on our homepage computes your chart on your own device; those inputs are not transmitted to us unless you separately submit them through the survey or a purchase.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting and content-delivery providers (GitHub Pages, Amazon CloudFront) may log IP addresses and request data as part of ordinary web hosting.
- Advertising and analytics. If we run advertising measurement tools (such as a Meta or TikTok pixel or similar analytics), those tools may set cookies or collect device identifiers to measure ad performance. Where required by law, we will request your consent before such tools are activated.
2. How we use your information
- To generate and deliver your personalized reading, blueprint, or report — including using your ZIP or postal code to suggest a public venue near you.
- To process payments and send purchase receipts and product deliverables by email.
- To send the weekly forecast newsletter and, occasionally, promotions for our own products, if you have opted in.
- To respond to questions, resolve delivery issues, and provide support.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website and our order workflows.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Automated generation of readings
Your reading is composed with the assistance of an artificial-intelligence language model (currently provided by Groq, Inc.). Portions of your survey responses are sent to that provider solely to generate your personalized text and are governed by that provider's data-processing terms. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies; readings are reviewed at the workflow level but are produced substantially by automated means.
Entertainment disclaimer. BeaconGaze products are astrological and metaphysical content provided for entertainment, reflection, and self-exploration purposes only. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or relationship advice, and they are not a matchmaking, dating, or introduction service. Any venue suggested in a reading is a public business we identified through mapping data; we do not verify it, are not affiliated with it, and make no promise that any person, experience, or outcome will be found there. Use your own judgment and prioritize your personal safety in all public settings.
4. Who processes your data on our behalf
We use a small set of service providers ("processors") to run BeaconGaze. Each receives only what it needs to perform its function:
| Provider | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Tally (Tally.so) | Survey hosting and response collection | Your survey answers |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Email, purchase details, payment credentials (held by Stripe only) |
| Make (make.com) | Workflow automation connecting our tools | Survey answers, email, order data in transit |
| Supabase | Subscriber and customer database | Email address, signup timestamp, order references |
| Google (Sheets, Maps, Gmail) | Order records, venue lookup by postal code, email delivery | Survey answers, postal code, email address |
| Groq | AI generation of reading text | Relevant survey answers |
| GitHub Pages / Amazon CloudFront | Website and media hosting | Standard web-server request logs |
These providers may store data on servers located in the United States or other countries. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on our providers' standard contractual safeguards.
5. Data retention
- Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Order and survey records are kept as long as needed to deliver your product, handle payment disputes, and meet tax and accounting obligations, then deleted or anonymized.
- Correspondence is kept for as long as reasonably necessary to document our interaction.
6. Your rights and choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email, or by writing to us.
- Access, correction, deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA) have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CPRA.
- EEA/UK residents (GDPR) may additionally object to or restrict processing, request portability, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal bases are contract performance (delivering your reading), consent (newsletter, any advertising cookies), and legitimate interest (operating and securing the service).
To exercise any right, email hello@beacongaze.com from the address associated with your data.
7. Security
We use access-controlled databases, transport-layer encryption (HTTPS) for data in transit, and restrict database write access on our public website to insert-only operations. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information with measures appropriate to the small amount of data we handle.
8. Age requirement
BeaconGaze is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to complete the survey, purchase a product, or subscribe to our emails. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we will delete it.
9. Purchases — all sales final
Our products are personalized digital goods, generated individually for you and delivered by email immediately or shortly after purchase. Because delivery begins at the moment of purchase and the product cannot be returned, all sales are final and non-refundable. By completing checkout you expressly consent to immediate performance and delivery of the digital content and acknowledge that you thereby lose any statutory right of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to distance purchases of digital content.
If your reading fails to arrive, check your spam folder first, then contact hello@beacongaze.com within 14 days and we will re-deliver it. Non-delivery is the only circumstance in which we correct an order.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. The effective date above reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
